Services
In 2007 began the urgently needed reconstruction of the traditional Minsk National Theatre, which opened in 1939 to a Stalinist design typical of eastern Europe during this period.
The construction project encompassed the renovation of the entire building. Contracted to install the complete stage machinery, SBS overhauled the fly loft and grid, the complete overstage machinery as well as the complex understage machinery with various stage wagons. These are 32 different units, made up of a total of 229 individual machines. The core elements of the stage are the computer-controlled overstage machinery, all of which meets western European standards, and the hydraulically operated machinery of the main stage (also computer-controlled). The main podium system comprises 20 individual hub podiums (draughtboard) each with two platforms (adjustable platform span and rotatable upper platform). In the rear stage is a 16 x 15 m double-deck hub podium used to store the revolving stage wagon and ballet wagon, also hydraulically operated.
More details on the extensive renovation work can be read on the homepage of the Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus.
